1. How can I buy a sunroom or conservatory over the Internet?
The Internet has made it possible to send photos, drawings and documents instantly anywhere in the world. We work with our customers and their contractor or architect to gather the information necessary to complete the basic design of a sunroom. Based on this information we will generate drawings of the sunroom and the house, allowing and changes to be made on paper before we send the room to production.
2. What if I, or my builder has never built a sunroom before?
We have the expertise and experience to walk you through the entire process. We have designed and installed hundreds of sunrooms on many different styles of homes. Construction of a sunroom kit is not technically difficult if you have a basic understanding of the typical construction practices.
3. Will my sunroom get too hot?
No, With the proper design it will not - It is dependent on several factors; the site orientation (heat exposure), how much overhead glass or polycarbonate is used, how much wall glass is used, the number and location of opening windows, doors and skylights, and the type of glass used (Heat Mirror, Low-E Argon, etc.) - Design is the most important element of a successful project. We can assist you in defining the best design for your project
4. What is the difference between a sunroom and a conservatory?
The terms are often used interchangeably to describe the same structure.
We generally use the term 'conservatory' to refer to our vinyl-framed rooms; these usually have hip and/or valley rooflines.
We use the term 'sunroom' to refer to our studio, or shed roof styled rooms. This is often used to describe our solid wood framed rooms.
We use the term 'solarium' to refer to a room that is incorporated into the existing roofline of the house. This is usually a room that just has a roof and front wall over a portion of house.
5. Can I install a sunroom myself?
Yes, we provide a comprehensive installation manual with each of our sunroom kits. The manual includes step-by-step instructions for each part of the sunrooms construction. All of the sunroom parts are labeled for easy reference when installing the kit. We also include a drawing of the sunroom to assist with the assembly for each of the kits we ship. If you have any questions, or get confused, give us a call toll free and we will gladly help you through.
6. How long after I order does it take to be delivered?
Once the final design is completed and has been confirmed, it normally takes between 3-6 weeks. Larger, more complex rooms may take longer. The time of the year may affect delivery lead-time.
7. Will I need to get a building permit?
Generally yes, it depends on local building code requirements - permit requirements are usually based on the amount of money spent and the type and size of construction to be built.
8. What is required to get a building permit?
Most local building departments require that certain basic design parameters be met. These usually include a check of set-back or property lines and drawings of the room addition. Often local building departments are beginning to require that a licensed professional engineer engineer sunrooms. We can provide this engineering site specific with all of the rooms we offer.

11. Do the opening windows have screens?
Yes, all of the opening windows and skylights come standard with screens.
12.Does my sunroom have to face the south?
No, not at all. The sunroom will be filled with natural light regardless of where it is located. Placement of your sunroom should be determined by your home's layout and anticipated use.
13. Are your sunrooms available as ready to install kits?
Yes, all of our sunrooms are manufactured as kits. Computer aided drafting and manufacturing processes allow even highly custom rooms to be pre-cut, pre-fitted, labeled and ready to install.
14. Can I put a hot tub or pool in my sunroom?
Absolutely! Sunrooms are a great way to enjoy your hot tub all year long. It is important to design your new room to have adequate ventilation. This can be as simple as using opening windows and skylights, or may require an optional wall or roof-mounted fan.
15.What is the warranty for your sunrooms / conservatories?
All of our sunrooms are warranted by the manufacturer for 10 years.
16. What is a box gutter?
A box gutter is an oversized aluminum gutter designed to carry the weight of the sunroom where it is attached to the house. It also carries the rainwater from both the sunroom and house to a downspout. Box gutters allow a sunroom to be attached to your home without disrupting the existing roofline of your home.
